I like books that keep me on my toes and this one really did. It involves a young conscientious mother who did not have the best childhood, but she is determined to make life good for her son, and husband.Then boom! She gets attacked, a murder occurs, and her whole world becomes a raging hurricane. There was not even an eye to this hurricane it just kept coming with each attack more vicious than the last. This was painful for me because I could not figure out who the murderer was. No one was safe.A great book. Nicely written, and organized. I only had one problem with two medical terms near the end. I liked the premise, but I don't like characters who are basically ignorant of how to take charge and take care of what seems logical. This is a long book, with lots (too many) characters. Allie is in victim mode for most of the book, and the other characters are just too evil and clueless to be believable. That was the frustration for me. I skipped way ahead and read the ending. I don't recommend.
